About the position

The Senior Product Designer at Lambda will lead and execute design projects that define and elevate the company's visual identity and product experience. This role is crucial in shaping how Lambda is perceived across all touchpoints, requiring collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless product development process. The designer will create user-centered designs, develop wireframes and prototypes, and maintain a design system to ensure consistency across products.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design process for new and existing products, from ideation to launch.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, and other designers.
  • Create user-centered designs by understanding business requirements and user feedback.
  • Craft the UI/UX of the product and web experience, establishing user personas, journeys, and flows.
  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals to communicate design concepts effectively.
  • Maintain and contribute to the design system for consistency across all product touchpoints.
  • Codify the design language into a robust system, producing a library of components and design tokens.
  • Advocate for design best practices and mentor junior designers within the team.
  • Continuously iterate on design solutions based on user testing and feedback.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and design techniques.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in product design with a strong portfolio showcasing complex design problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (JIRA, Confluence, Notion, Asana, Monday, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of UX and UI principles with a proven track record in real-world projects.
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing, translating findings into actionable design improvements.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to articulate design decisions clearly.
  • A degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field is preferred but not required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with front-end development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience in micro interactions design (CSS, Lottie, etc.).
  • Experience designing for mobile applications and responsive web design.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and implementation in design.
  • Experience working within agile development environments.
  • Previous experience in a mentorship or leadership role within a design team.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in the machine learning or computer hardware industry.
