About the position

The position is for a User Experience Designer at Blink, focusing on developing advanced design and interaction skills to create innovative and high-quality designs that align with business objectives and customer needs. The role involves managing multiple projects, leading design discussions, mentoring mid-level designers, and effectively communicating with stakeholders. The designer will take ownership of specific design tasks, define design specifications, and ensure successful project execution while working on-site in Seattle, WA.

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced design and interaction skills to create innovative and high-quality designs.
• Manage multiple projects end-to-end in a fast-paced environment.
• Lead design discussions and mentor mid-level designers.
• Effectively communicate with stakeholders, including senior leaders and executives.
• Articulate the rationale behind design decisions using industry benchmarks and research insights.
• Take ownership of specific design tasks within a project and execute them effectively under Senior guidance.
• Define and communicate design specifications with developers independently.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
• Prior work history in e-commerce with device design and enterprise design.
• Experience in user-centered and design thinking methodologies.
• Experience building and launching features/products across various platforms.
• Demonstrated ability in designing intuitive and meaningful mobile apps.
• Hands-on experience with Figma and other prototyping tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience defining and maintaining design systems.
• Experience with interaction design and motion animation, including developing animated assets using After Effects.
• Experience developing customer-facing landing pages for SaaS products.
