About the position

As a key member of the Pumpkin Experience team, you will be responsible for creating visually stunning and user-friendly experiences for pet owners, claims adjusters, and internal staff. Reporting to the Director of Product Design, you will collaborate with various teams to enhance product offerings and streamline workflows, ensuring that the mission of 'Unconditional Love, Uncompromising Care' is upheld. This role requires a blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and technical expertise to drive innovation and improve user engagement.

Responsibilities

• Create end-to-end experiences for claims adjusters, pet owners, and pets that drive business results.
• Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and validate design decisions.
• Design polished work that represents the Pumpkin brand through visual comps, wireframes, flows, prototypes, and presentations.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and marketing to define and prioritize product requirements.
• Partner with engineering to understand technical landscapes and ensure quality assurance for product launches.
• Develop and maintain design systems, style guides, and UI component libraries for consistency across products.
• Contribute to the growth and development of the design team and evolve research and design methodologies.
• Mentor junior designers and provide constructive feedback.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to improve design processes.

Requirements

• Outstanding portfolio demonstrating strong product design capabilities and examples of stellar UX & visual UI design.
• 5+ years of professional experience as a designer in-house or at a startup.
• Exceptional craft and executional design skills with a focus on aesthetics and brand embodiment.
• Deep understanding of product design strategy and methodologies.
• Ability to translate problem statements and user insights into effective design solutions.
• Strong presentation and collaboration skills with stakeholders in agile and lean environments.
• Exceptional visual design skills that translate to premium UI in implementation.
• Strong command of design and prototyping software (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Miro).
