About the position

GameChanger is seeking a Senior Product Designer who is passionate about sports and dedicated to solving complex problems for coaches, players, family members, and fans involved in youth sports. This role requires a blend of creative problem-solving skills, excellent execution, and the ability to manage projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with product, engineering, and marketing teams to achieve ambitious goals. As a critical thinker, you will approach product design with innovation, ensuring that the solutions you create are user-friendly and accessible to all stakeholders. In this position, you will lead the end-to-end design process, shipping features across both mobile and web platforms. You will partner with cross-functional peers to influence product direction through a user-centered approach, working iteratively to define problems and quickly find effective solutions. Regular communication with customers will be essential, as you will collect insights, test assumptions, and translate research findings into actionable outcomes. You will facilitate design sprints and workshops to develop high-quality solutions, crafting intuitive design flows, sketches, prototypes, and high-fidelity user interfaces for both mobile and web applications. Additionally, you will play a key role in evolving and growing the design practice at GameChanger. This includes contributing to the design system, participating in design critiques, sharing inspirational resources, and engaging in brainstorming sessions. You will be encouraged to question the status quo and advocate for meaningful change within the organization, ensuring that the design team continuously improves and adapts to meet user needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design process and ship features across mobile and web platforms.
  • Partner with cross-functional peers to influence the product through a user-centered approach.
  • Work iteratively to define problems and quickly find solutions.
  • Speak with customers frequently, collect insights, test assumptions, and translate research takeaways into meaningful outcomes.
  • Facilitate design sprints and workshops to develop high-quality solutions.
  • Craft intuitive design flows, sketches, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI for mobile and web.
  • Help evolve and grow the design practice at GameChanger.
  • Contribute to our design system, be vocal in design critiques, share inspirational resources, and aid in brainstorms.
  • Question the status quo and advocate for change.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience within Product Design.
  • Knowledge and an interest in sports.
  • Experience designing user-centered experiences for at least five years.
  • Experience designing and shipping native iOS and Android apps.
  • Portfolio showcasing impact, processes, sketches, collaboration, and reflection, including at least two detailed case studies.
  • Ability to break down large problems into bite-sized measurable chunks.
  • Experience conducting user research, facilitating user interviews and user tests, and synthesizing findings to identify trends and make recommendations.
  • Ability to articulate and present the rationale behind design ideas.
  • Focus on moving the team forward and positively impacting the team, not just the product.
  • Results-oriented with a constant drive to improve user experience.
  • Willingness to seek out and provide meaningful feedback for growth.
  • Self-aware and humble.

Nice-to-haves
