About the position

At Intuit, our mission is to power prosperity around the world, and we are seeking a Senior Product Designer to join our team. This role is pivotal in defining how small businesses interact with their bookkeepers through our QuickBooks Live service. QuickBooks Live is a suite of online expert services, including bookkeeping and tax preparation, that connects small businesses with trusted, QuickBooks-certified virtual experts. The designer will play a crucial role in ensuring that small businesses can collaborate efficiently with these experts, enabling them to manage their operations with confidence. As a Senior Product Designer, you will be involved in every phase of the design process, from gathering insights and brainstorming to prototyping and launching pixel-perfect designs. You will leverage machine learning to enhance user interactions, making them not only functional but also delightfully simple. Your work will directly impact the user experience of our flagship products, TurboTax and QuickBooks, which serve nearly 50 million customers worldwide. If you are passionate about creating bold and elegant solutions that empower users and drive business results, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Solve customer problems by synthesizing behavioral information and imagining things as they might be, not as they are
  • Deliver user flow diagrams, interaction patterns, design specs, wireframes, mental models, information architecture, and prototypes using emotional design methods
  • Participate in, and often lead, customer research with clear goals, a testable hypothesis, and learning plan
  • Conceptualize a broad spectrum of ideas and then narrow based on experimentation and customer research
  • Use visual frameworks and patterns based on brand guidelines
  • Collaborate effectively with other designers, content strategists, product managers, product developers, marketers, and researchers
  • Solicit feedback and contribute constructively to design reviews
  • Advance a strong point of view, backed up by personal expertise, design rationale, customer data, and industry trends
  • Work on multiple projects at one time, using strong communication skills to manage time and expectations appropriately

Requirements

  • Significant experience as a product or interaction designer responsible for leading work on cross platform products and/or systems at a digital company, contributing to or leading the design and execution of cross platform product experience; min of 5 years functioning as a design lead
  • Four-year degree in Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction Design, or other relevant field, or equivalent experience; Graduate degree a plus
  • Expert knowledge and experience with driving and applying user-centered design processes while working collaboratively with customers, along with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, and user research
  • Curiosity and commitment to testing new ideas and innovating to drive business results
  • Excellent communicator, presenter, and negotiator
  • Expertise conveying ideas and concepts through storyboarding, wireframing, and prototyping
  • Mastery of Figma, or similar tools (Figma will be your primary design tool)
  • A well-presented online portfolio demonstrating your strong craft and collaborative process
