About the position

The Senior Product Designer at McGraw Hill is responsible for developing and implementing the design vision and strategy for educational products within the K-12 division, specifically focusing on the Math portfolio. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to create engaging print and digital learning experiences that enhance student success. The designer will ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Translate the design vision and product strategy into user-friendly print and digital designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify problems and generate innovative solutions.
• Articulate design rationale to stakeholders and team members.
• Facilitate meetings with internal teams, vendors, and peers.
• Identify risks and develop contingency plans proactively.
• Manage vendor relationships, including onboarding, training, and quality assurance.
• Create style guides, workflows, and documentation, and mentor others on design guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication, digital design, human-centered design, or related field.
• 3 years of work experience in print and web visual design.
• Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically InDesign and Illustrator.
• Familiarity with Photoshop and Figma or other web design tools.
• A portfolio showcasing strong visual sensibilities and understanding of the design process.
• Understanding of web standards and technologies, including CSS and HTML.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, and Lucidchart.
