About the position

The Senior Product Development Program Manager at Medtronic will lead cross-functional teams in the Mechanical Circulatory Support Operating Unit, focusing on the development and management of programs related to left ventricular assist devices (LVAD). This role emphasizes innovation, collaboration, and effective communication to ensure successful project execution and alignment with business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the team leader on moderate to complex projects/programs, providing overall leadership, vision, direction, and structure to a cross-functional team.
• Manage the overall planning, execution, and successful implementation of activities in the development and update of released products.
• Lead cross-functional teams through the product development process to ensure successful completion of development projects, design changes, and compliance programs.
• Develop, implement, communicate, and document project strategies and plans, including budget and detailed schedule creation and maintenance.
• Lead team meetings and other necessary meetings to drive best-in-class program execution by continually improving quality and effectiveness of how meetings are run, decisions are made, and how work gets done.
• Communicate complex topics verbally and in writing, catering messages to the specific audience.
• Identify and manage stakeholders by keeping them informed with appropriate and timely information.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in industry with a bachelor's degree; or 5+ years of relevant experience in industry with an advanced degree.

• 10+ years of experience in Project and/or People Management.
• Project Management Professional Certification (PMP).
• Experience managing and leading projects in the medical device industry.
• Experience negotiating and managing competing priorities across multiple functional areas.

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a team environment.
