About the position
The Senior Product Group Manager will support TD's U.S. Bankcard credit card business by enhancing its governance and control environment, aiming to unlock long-term growth potential while simplifying processes for customers and colleagues. This individual contributor role involves overseeing a team of product management professionals, providing strategic direction, and ensuring the development and implementation of products and services that meet customer needs. The position is accountable for formulating strategy, policy, and overall direction of the product portfolio, while fostering a strong controls and governance culture.
Responsibilities
- Support TD's U.S. Bankcard credit card business in governance and control enhancement.
- Oversee and lead a team of product management professionals in product development.
- Formulate strategy, policy, and overall direction for the product portfolio.
- Build a strong talent pipeline within the team.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and guidance to team members and executives.
- Manage the product development budget and allocate resources effectively.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform product strategy.
- Develop and implement products that enhance customer experience and achieve business objectives.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure alignment with customer needs.
- Monitor product performance and recommend enhancements to meet objectives.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree or product management certificate and/or 10+ years relevant experience.
- Previous product experience required.
- Experience in leading strategy strongly recommended.
- Advanced knowledge of product research, analysis, and development.
- Ability to conduct forecasting, pricing, and competitive intelligence.
- Skill in mentoring, coaching, and performance management.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions.
- Knowledge of analytical software tools and data analysis methods.
Nice-to-haves
- Product management / P&L ownership experience.
- Credit card industry or consumer financial services experience.
- Working knowledge of credit card laws, rules, and regulations.
