About the position

The Senior Product Manager 1 Technical at eBay is responsible for defining, planning, designing, launching, and measuring product and platform strategies. This role involves researching growth opportunities, creating exceptional customer experiences, and managing product requirements to ensure timely delivery of high-quality features. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including engineering and analytics teams, to successfully launch products and enhance payment processing capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Define, plan, design, launch, and measure product and platform strategy.
  • Research key growth opportunities and create a stellar customer experience.
  • Understand and synthesize customer and business needs from market research and business data.
  • Formulate product/platform strategy and manage the execution of a prioritized roadmap.
  • Define product requirements and manage the overall project schedule.
  • Work with partners in business, engineering, and analytics to define, build, and launch product features.
  • Manage communications and expectations with internal stakeholders and the eBay community.
  • Define and formulate ramp and measurement criteria for product launches.
  • Recommend the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing specifications and requirements.
  • Successfully launch products/platforms utilizing experience in product management and payments technology.
  • Provide clear product vision to scrum teams and co-lead the Agile scrum team.
  • Set product/backlog prioritization balancing near-term deliverables and long-term technology investments.
  • Communicate strategies and tradeoffs to senior leaders and development teams.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify gaps and opportunities in payment processing.
  • Build a case for hypotheses, conduct A/B testing, and implement successful strategies.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering, or closely related quantitative discipline plus six years of experience in the job offered or in software engineering/program analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or closely related quantitative discipline plus eight years of experience in the job offered or progressively responsible experience in software engineering/program analysis.
  • Knowledge of the Fintech ecosystem and payments processing, including Payments, Cards infrastructure, and Chargebacks.
  • Experience with Real Time Payments (RTP), Debit Card Payouts (DCP), and digital wallet strategies.
  • Ability to conduct product opportunity assessments and market analysis.
  • Experience in product strategy and roadmap creation.
  • Skills in gathering, structuring, and prioritizing product requirements.
  • Proficiency in Agile project management and wireframing.
  • Experience in rapid prototyping and A/B testing.
  • Ability to build effective pricing models and differentiated product offerings.
  • Experience in customer product onboarding and development using Python, Figma, Tableau, and SQL.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience representing products in trade shows and tech blogs.
  • Knowledge of improving product performance through hardware and software optimization.
