About the position

The Washington Post is seeking a Senior Product Manager, AdTech to join the monetization product team. This role is critical in developing the next generation of advertising technology, focusing on contextual ad targeting, ad tools, and programmatic platform optimization. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure solutions are scalable and meet business and user goals.

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the product roadmap for contextual ad targeting, ad tools, and programmatic platform optimization.
  • Assist with all aspects of the product life cycle, including strategy, product requirements definition, design, user testing, launch plans, and future enhancements.
  • Collaborate with advertising partners to set quarterly OKRs and track progress.
  • Manage the integration of internal and external advertising technology on the Washington Post's O&O properties.
  • Set KPIs and regularly track product performance, benchmarks, and success metrics, driving strategy on best areas for enhancement and growth.
  • Lead through influence by building trust and alignment with clear, proactive communication about your plans, progress, successes, and setbacks.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience with a minimum of 2 years in adtech.
  • A proven track record of critical thinking and problem solving in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • A collaborative spirit and ability to build strong partnerships across disciplines that result in better product outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable using quantitative and qualitative data to identify user needs and inform solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience shaping product methodology, technical solutioning, and the software development process, particularly as it relates to ad-tech.
  • Experience working in the publisher industry and/or a passion for The Washington Post or the journalism industry at large.
