About the position

The Senior Product Manager at Avient is responsible for leading strategic product marketing initiatives for Advanced Composites products. This role involves overseeing product planning, market segmentation, and ensuring profitable growth through effective product management and customer engagement. The individual will work closely with a small team and interact globally to achieve business objectives, while also being a thought leader in the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in strategic product marketing and platform definition for Advanced Composites products.
  • Oversee a small team of direct reports and interact globally to achieve business objectives.
  • Ensure product introductions support the specialization strategy and meet launch requirements.
  • Monitor business results and update the Strategic Plan in conjunction with management in each region.
  • Establish clear measurement and management of product profitability and proactively manage product mix.
  • Direct or monitor staff in managing existing product groups and new product development.
  • Generate and monitor effectiveness of sales campaigns and advertising programs.
  • Analyze product sales records and evaluate performance against sales targets.
  • Review product prices, approve price deviations, and implement price increases.
  • Develop or review product forecasts for management approval.
  • Supervise the development and introduction of new products in collaboration with sales, research, manufacturing, and distribution teams.
  • Ensure continuous technical support for customers and sales personnel.
  • Conduct executive marketing/sales calls to maintain customer contact and promote sales efforts.
  • Coordinate and attend trade functions to develop business contacts and gather market information.
  • Support Avient's LSS improvement process and ensure error-free work.
  • Develop and implement the strategic marketing direction for product platforms.
  • Create value propositions focusing on customer needs and product quality.
  • Assist in accelerating growth market expansion and oversee product management functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or equivalent experience.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in strategic planning and budget management.
  • Leadership experience with direct reports.
  • Global experience in product management and marketing.
  • Experience in new product marketing and sales/customer service.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with SAP Business Warehouse.
  • Familiarity with environmental, health, safety, and security (EHS&S) requirements.
