About the position

The Kindle Content and Physical Books team at Amazon is seeking a passionate and visionary Senior Product Manager to lead innovative solutions that directly impact the Books Profit and Loss (P&L). This role encompasses end-to-end ownership of new features aimed at enhancing operational and sustainability excellence within the Books Supply Chain Operations. As the WW Senior Product Manager for Inventory Productivity, you will be responsible for designing products that help reduce inventory over-investments, ensuring that both customer experience and operational efficiency are prioritized. In this position, you will collaborate with various Marketplace Points of Contact (POCs) to drive initiatives related to inventory management. This includes designing metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying current gaps in collaboration with central teams, and developing a future roadmap for a defect-free supply chain. You will work closely with Amazon's Supply Chain Optimization & Technologies teams, Data Science, Finance, Transportation, and Customer Experience/User Experience (CX/UX) Design, as well as both internal and external stakeholders, to own the product roadmap strategy and execution. The Books Operational Excellence team operates cross-functionally, partnering with Retail, Operations, and Technology teams to deliver impactful results. This highly visible role involves regular interactions with leaders across the organization, from senior Books leaders to systems and operations managers, to drive alignment and achieve results. Your ability to manage diverse stakeholder relationships will be crucial in gaining cross-functional support for supply chain initiatives that extend beyond the Books category.

Responsibilities

  • Have end-to-end ownership of inventory productivity products/initiatives, with Senior Leadership goals and roadmap visibility, from conceptualization and design through development and implementation
  • Partner with enterprise retail and inventory management teams
  • Think creatively and invent new solutions for excess inventory reduction, including both prevention and response
  • Design long-term supply chain strategies to raise the bar for 'optimal inventory productivity', accounting for the nuances of Books customers and vendors
  • Be the central voice of US Books to systems and operations leaders to champion supply chain initiatives and extend them beyond Books across the company
  • Manage diverse stakeholder relationships to gain cross-functional support to deliver results across the supply chain
  • Expand our product scope and learnings to WW market places approaching systemic & technical implementations

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with end to end product delivery
  • Experience as a product manager or owner
  • Experience owning technology products
