About the position

The Senior/Principal Product Manager at Snowflake will play a crucial role in enhancing the developer experience and productivity within the engineering team. This position focuses on removing obstacles that hinder engineers, thereby fostering innovation and improving customer satisfaction. The role involves defining the product vision for developer tools and services, collaborating closely with engineering teams, and ensuring that the tools provided meet the needs of developers throughout the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve the product vision for critical pieces of Snowflake's Developer Experience.
  • Evolve internal products and services to help engineers succeed.
  • Understand the developer journey in building, testing, and debugging code.
  • Engage with Snowflake engineers to gather feedback and ensure product direction aligns with their needs.
  • Become a subject matter expert in best practices for various programming languages, including Java, C++, Python, and Golang.
  • Understand build tools and create recommended paths for customers based on their needs.
  • Develop an understanding of testing best practices and create a cohesive approach to minimize relearning for customers.
  • Drive customer-outcome oriented decisions and define metrics to improve the software development journey.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience, including experience as an engineer/developer and a minimum of 5 years as a Product Manager.
  • Experience in building and improving tools and processes for engineers.
  • Significant experience working with Engineering and Data Science teams.
  • Familiarity with best practices around the software development lifecycle.
  • In-depth experience in driving measurable developer productivity outcomes.
  • Proven experience defining a product vision and managing execution through successful launches.
  • Highly data-driven with the ability to use quantitative and qualitative data for decision-making.
  • Ability to iterate quickly based on customer feedback and data insights.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with test-driven development and mature software engineering practices.
