About the position

General Atlantic is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead strategic technology product initiatives across its application and data platforms. This role involves acting as a liaison between various teams to translate business needs into effective product solutions, ensuring that product roadmaps are achievable and aligned with business objectives. The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for driving product development, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and implementing metrics to measure platform effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a critical liaison between investment, business, operations, and technology professionals to translate business needs into excellent product solutions with executable roadmaps.
  • Define minimum viable product (MVP) solutions that solve business problems while delivering early, incremental business value.
  • Drive exceptional cross-team collaboration across different functions and organizations to ensure successful delivery.
  • Develop business cases for proposed product solutions, including defining scope, solution design/architecture, timeline, cost, and resource estimates.
  • Conduct build vs. buy analyses for solution evaluations.
  • Document product requirements, specifications, and workflows, creating visuals of the product solution and its interconnections with the broader technology architecture.
  • Work closely with developers to ensure product roadmaps are achievable and requirements are well-defined to avoid development re-work.
  • Implement metrics programs to measure platform adoption and effectiveness to realize business benefits.
  • Identify, define, and analyze alternative courses of action and recommend complete solutions to undefined challenges requiring systems thinking.
  • Conceptualize and own all aspects of the solution required for successful go-live, including data migration, training, and usage reporting.
  • Partner with the business to re-engineer/optimize business processes to adopt new technology capabilities.
  • Prepare product status reporting for working teams and executive updates.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Requirements

  • College degree, additional degree preferred.
  • 8+ years' experience delivering large-scale technology product implementations, owning the product vision and roadmap, and collaborating across large cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in Private Equity/alternative investments, with expertise in technology product areas such as investor portals/onboarding, CRM, portfolio management, fund accounting, and data platforms.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Investran, iLevel, Workday is a plus.
  • Experience with Agile methodology and various SDLC methodologies; Jira expertise strongly preferred.
  • Ability to break down business problems and translate them into executable product roadmaps with incremental milestones/business benefits.
  • Capability to translate and rationalize business asks into high-performing product solutions.
  • Experience establishing metrics to define success and measure outcomes.
  • Exceptional level of accuracy and attention to detail; proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Pristine written and verbal communication skills, both detailed and at executive summary level.
  • Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Strong software delivery and product/project management skills, with proven ability to collaborate effectively across broad domains and stakeholder groups.
  • Proven ability to build consensus and drive issue resolution as a team player.
