About the position

Worldwide Retail Growth and Development (WWRGD) is a pivotal division within Amazon, responsible for overseeing Real Estate, Design, and Store Development across the Worldwide Grocery Stores. This team is dedicated to enhancing brick-and-mortar retail experiences for customers under the Amazon and Whole Foods Market brands, while also supporting the logistics network for Worldwide Grocery. The Senior Product Manager for Growth & Innovation will play a crucial role in this mission, focusing on the development of new store concepts and the innovation of existing retail offerings. The ideal candidate for this position will be customer-obsessed and possess a strong background in retail product management. They should have a proven ability to think strategically and execute tactically, with a track record of successfully launching new products and retail stores. This role requires a collaborative mindset, as the Senior Product Manager will work closely with various stakeholders, including business leaders, real estate teams, and senior executives, to align on the requirements for new concepts. The ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate a fast-paced environment is essential, as this position will involve balancing strategic innovation with operational execution. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Growth & Innovation, the Senior Product Manager will be part of a small, agile team focused on driving strategic initiatives and evolving the current portfolio of retail stores. This role will involve leading the production of business plans for new store concepts, coordinating with finance to create financial plans, and setting key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of new initiatives post-launch. The candidate will also be responsible for implementing systems to ensure effective follow-up on action items and driving focus on key bottlenecks to facilitate timely solutions. Overall, this position is designed for a master collaborator who can effectively communicate and present ideas to senior leadership while managing complex projects with high levels of ambiguity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the production of new store concept business plans and go-to-market strategies
  • Work closely with Real Estate Research to determine opportunity size of future concept versions and understand ROI
  • Coordinate with Finance to create financial plans/ pro forma
  • Set KPIs to measure success of new store concepts or initiatives post-launch
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across business stakeholders to set product vision and roadmaps
  • Support Growth & Innovation leader to innovate the current portfolio and set up a mechanism to roll out updates in a systematic and cost-effective manner
  • Implement systems ensuring strong follow-up management occurs on action items and questions with relevant senior leaders
  • Drive Senior Manager, Growth & Innovation focus and attention to key bottlenecks, identifying potential solutions and leading implementation
  • Manage projects with high levels of ambiguity and complexity, frequently navigating change

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with end to end product delivery
  • Experience as a product manager or owner
  • Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability writing PRFAQs for and presenting to senior leadership
