About the position

The Product Manager on the Growth team at MongoDB is responsible for driving user success and increasing paid customer conversion through innovative solutions. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand customer needs, develop hypotheses, and implement strategies that enhance engagement and optimize conversion rates. The position requires a strong focus on both user experience and business impact, with the goal of continuously identifying opportunities for growth within the product portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to increase user success and conversion to paid on our products through enhancing engagement, platform feature expansion, conversion rate optimization, and new opportunities.
  • Work cross-functionally with Design, Marketing, Engineering, and Analytics to formulate hypotheses and turn them into high-quality solutions.
  • Identify user needs and pains, barriers to adoption, and business opportunities through research, feedback collection, and competitive analysis.
  • Provide input and influence the long-term vision of our products to support business and product area goals.
  • Understand and improve critical funnels and metrics to maximize business impact.
  • Drive execution against our plan, making trade-offs, anticipating needs, risks, and ensuring clear communication.
  • Lead a cross-functional team to build a roadmap of experience changes that will improve customer experience.

Requirements

  • Passion for MongoDB and solving problems for a developer audience.
  • Growth mentality with the ability to execute at a fast pace, focusing on user experience, impact, and learning.
  • Ability to think big and small, comfortable with both new experiences and optimizing existing workflows.
  • Initiate and work concurrently on multiple projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, for collaboration across teams.
  • Data and business-minded with a deep understanding of product impact on customers.
  • Excellent research ability and demonstrable ability to lead through influence.
  • Minimum 5 years of Product Management experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience in Growth (Activation, Retention, Monetization).
  • Prior experience as a software engineer or technical education.
  • Prior experience in UI/UX, Design, or Research.
