About the position

The Sr Product Manager II - Identity Observability at Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology is responsible for leading the observability strategy for identity services, ensuring the reliability and performance of critical systems such as login, registration, and account management. This role involves implementing advanced monitoring systems to proactively detect issues, thereby enhancing user experiences across Disney's platforms. The position plays a crucial role in maintaining seamless interactions for millions of guests worldwide, contributing to the overall mission of creating magical experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement a comprehensive observability vision across Identity, ensuring the stability and performance of Disney's identity services.
  • Build dashboards that provide real-time views of service health, enabling immediate detection and resolution of potential issues.
  • Establish a proactive alerting system that flags critical incidents before they impact guest experiences, minimizing downtime.
  • Create a standardized observability framework that allows for a holistic view of service ecosystems, identifying risks early and enhancing overall reliability.
  • Partner with Engineering and Program to resolve incidents quickly, troubleshoot system issues, and contribute to the long-term resilience of services.
  • Contribute to the development of long-term strategies that ensure consistent service reliability, and help define the product roadmap to continue delivering magical guest experiences.
  • Demonstrates a proactive approach by anticipating challenges, identifying opportunities, and driving initiatives to enable effective outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience as a Product Manager, with a proven track record of success in building and executing observability strategies.
  • Working knowledge of Datadog or similar observability tools, and a demonstrated ability to use data to drive product decisions.
  • Strong ability to collaborate across teams, align stakeholders on product plans, and operate in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Experience working within agile software development environments, leading squads through scrum processes.
  • A deep appreciation for Disney's mission to create magical experiences for guests, fans, subscribers and viewers.
