About the position

The US Head of Product Management for ION's XTP post-trade suite is responsible for leading product management efforts, engaging with clients, regulators, and industry associations, and managing the US post-trade product team. This role involves overseeing product ownership, ensuring timely delivery of enhancements, and contributing to the strategic product roadmap while mentoring team members for professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior product liaison for US-based clients, exchanges, regulators, and industry bodies.
  • Gather and document client business requirements and regulatory initiatives, coordinating with the XTP Product Owner and development team.
  • Assist in the functional evolution of ION's Cleared Derivatives offering, focusing on the post-trade suite.
  • Manage the US post-trade product management team, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
  • Mentor team members to promote professional growth and recognize talent.
  • Lead XTP Implementation Analysis engagements and document requirements across ION solutions.
  • Take ownership of a specific product line or asset class within the Cleared Derivatives Product Management team.
  • Attend major US cleared derivatives industry conferences and participate in FIA-led initiatives.
  • Work with development teams to ensure solutions meet business requirements and conduct testing of new functionalities.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders regarding new initiatives and updates.
  • Support Technical and Commercial Account Management teams as a subject matter expert in customer meetings.
  • Assist the Sales team with demos, RFP submissions, and pre-sales activities.

Requirements

  • Degree educated.
  • 10+ years of experience in finance or financial technology at a bank, FCM, software vendor, or exchange, with an understanding of global derivatives markets.
  • Knowledge of the exchange traded derivatives (ETD) clearing and settlement process.
  • Ability to analyze customer business problems and specify business requirements using an agile approach.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with specialist business acumen.
  • Excellent team management skills.
  • Strong technical awareness.

Nice-to-haves

  • Direct knowledge of vendor post-trade platforms or in-house developed solutions.
  • Direct knowledge of cleared OTC post-trade life cycle from clearing to settlement, including reporting.
  • Experience with US regulatory framework and reporting requirements for cleared derivatives.
  • Experience with US tax regulatory framework and tax reporting requirements.
  • Experience in the software development lifecycle, including agile methods and SCRUM.
  • Experience writing business requirements and product specifications.
