About the position

The Senior Product Manager for the State of Minnesota's Paid Leave Division will lead the development and delivery of a new Paid Leave program set to launch in 2026. This role involves collaborating with various teams to create a user-friendly product that meets the needs of Minnesotans. The position requires strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and a commitment to delivering exceptional user experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the Chief Product Officer and Deputy Chief Product Officer to create a short term, clear product roadmap of prioritized features and initiatives.
  • Lead prioritization for your backlog and facilitate discussions with leadership regarding product decisions.
  • Collaborate with Design, Customer Engagement, Legal, and Policy teams to ensure compliance with relevant statutes and regulations.
  • Define success metrics and measure the impact of the team's work.
  • Work with Product Leadership, stakeholders, and architects to define product scope and prioritization.
  • Break down complex product requirements into clear, functional specifications for user stories.
  • Share and socialize the impact of the team's work to generate energy and buy-in for the Paid Leave product.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.

Requirements

  • Four (4) years of experience in a Product Manager/Product Owner role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Product Management, Public Policy, Business, Communications or related field may substitute for one year of experience; master's degree substitutes for eighteen months of experience.
  • Experience determining and communicating critical next steps to maintain project momentum.
  • Experience building working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working as a Product Manager within an agile product team.
  • Ability to prioritize work and communicate prioritization strategy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience building a product from 0-1.
  • Experience building a product roadmap and socializing it across teams.
  • Experience influencing without authority to drive alignment and buy-in.
