About the position

As a Senior Product Manager focused on Supply Chain Transparency at UL Solutions, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the product vision and strategy for our software portfolio aimed at enhancing supply chain transparency and driving digital transformation for manufacturers and formulators. Your responsibilities will include utilizing data-driven approaches to identify customer needs and address product-market gaps, collaborating with key stakeholders to develop comprehensive business and product strategies, and leveraging your deep market understanding to inform the strategy for a group of related products or individual products of high strategic importance. You will evaluate market needs against UL's unique capabilities and those of competitors, contributing to a go-to-market strategy that articulates how value will be delivered to customers, differentiating our products from the competition, and defining the appropriate business model. In this role, you will prioritize product functions and features into a coherent product roadmap, define and monitor a set of product goals and corresponding metrics to evaluate performance continually, and effectively communicate the product vision, strategy, and goals both internally across the organization and externally with clients and prospects. You will also be responsible for fostering a positive team culture by modeling desired behaviors aligned with UL's core values, supporting the career development of your direct reports, and ensuring clear expectations are set for their roles. Additionally, you will support an efficient cross-functional matrix structure to enable effective product development throughout the lifecycle, implement robust processes for all stages of product development from research and discovery to release management and product support, and contribute to the discovery and standardization of product management tools across the organization. Your leadership will be crucial in driving the success of our product initiatives and ensuring alignment with UL's mission of making the world a safer, more secure, and sustainable place.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize data-driven approaches to own customer needs and address product-market gaps.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop business and product strategy for a software portfolio focused on supply chain transparency and digital transformation.
  • Use the established product vision and market understanding to inform the strategy for related products or high strategic importance products.
  • Evaluate market needs against UL's and competitors' unique abilities to address them.
  • Support and contribute to a go-to-market strategy, describing how value will be delivered to the customer/user and how the product is differentiated from the competition.
  • Prioritize product functions and features into a product roadmap.
  • Help define and monitor a set of product goals, outcomes, and corresponding metrics to evaluate performance continually.
  • Evangelize and communicate the product vision, strategy, and goals internally and externally.

Requirements

  • University Degree (Equivalent to Bachelor's degree) in Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.
  • 7+ years related discipline experience or demonstrated competency.
  • Direct management experience is preferred.
  • Experience managing product teams is preferred.
  • Working with remote teams is highly preferred.
  • Project management certification is a plus.
