About the position

The Senior Product Manager - Technical for Alexa Customer Journeys at Amazon is a pivotal role focused on integrating Generative AI assistance into the daily lives of customers. The Alexa Customer Journeys team is dedicated to ensuring that every Alexa customer receives personalized and proactive assistance, enhancing their daily experiences. The role requires a blend of technical expertise and a strong grasp of industry best practices to navigate the complexities of defining and scaling proactive assistance for Generative AI use cases. In this role, you will be responsible for driving clarity out of ambiguity, defining a clear vision, strategy, and requirements for customer scenarios. You will develop and manage mechanisms that ensure high quality at speed and scale, representing the voice of the customer through extensive research. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with engineering, applied science, and UX/design teams to advance state-of-the-art technologies. Your efforts will focus on driving adoption, engagement, and experimentation of your products, ensuring that they meet the high-quality standards expected by Amazon. As a horizontal product role, you will span multiple delivery organizations within a functional product team, central to delivering a Generative AI-based service. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of engaging with science and engineering teams to deliver foundational technologies and customer experiences. You will own the customer experience, with customer satisfaction as your ultimate success measure, and will engage with senior leadership to provide updates on progress in this high-velocity, high-ambiguity environment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive clarity out of ambiguity and define a clear vision, strategy and requirements for customer scenarios.
  • Develop and manage mechanisms that ensure high quality at speed and scale.
  • Represent the voice of customer through external and internal research and map to customer needs.
  • Work with engineering, applied science, and UX/design to advance state of the art.
  • Drive adoption, engagement, and experimentation of your products.
  • Collaborate and partner closely across Amazon to amplify proactive experiences.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with end to end product delivery
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
  • Experience managing technical products or online services
  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight
  • Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools.
