About the position

AWS Fintech team is seeking a highly motivated Senior Product Manager to collaborate with our software development teams in creating financial systems for the global AWS business. The success of these systems is crucial for AWS's ability to scale its finance capabilities in a rapidly growing and increasingly complex global environment. This role is integral in ensuring that the systems are accurate and provide the necessary financial and business analysis for the global finance organization. The position will support and enable the development and automation of complex reporting and analysis that delivers actionable insights across AWS. The ideal candidate will be proactive and highly motivated, with a strong customer focus and critical thinking skills. They will be expected to take ownership and drive positive change within the organization. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity, analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams, including worldwide AWS, finance, and software development teams. The primary responsibilities for these custom finance systems include developing and driving product vision and strategy in alignment with the AWS Finance technology vision, ensuring that standardization, automation, scalability, and agility are key components of the systems and tools. Additionally, the role involves identifying business and technical requirements, prioritizing requests for software development teams, ensuring appropriate coordination and communication with relevant business and cross-functional stakeholders, providing analytical support for AWS software development teams, managing Fintech products throughout their life cycle, and analyzing key finance KPIs and business performance metrics to identify gaps and define measurement frameworks that support actionable insights. The candidate will also assess tech design strategies and determine design approaches and trade-offs in the product development strategy. Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive product vision and strategy in alignment with the AWS Finance technology vision.
  • Ensure that standardization, automation, scalability, and agility are components of the systems and tools.
  • Identify business and technical requirements, including customer experience improvements, and prioritize requests for software development teams.
  • Ensure appropriate coordination and communication with relevant business and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Provide analytical support, including prototypes and proofs of concept, for AWS software development teams.
  • Manage Fintech products throughout the product life cycle.
  • Deep dive and analyze key finance KPIs and business performance metrics, identify gaps and define measurement frameworks to support actionable insights.
  • Assess tech design strategies, and determine design approaches/tradeoffs in the product development strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 7+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience.
  • Experience identifying business opportunities and building a product.
  • Strong leadership, project planning and execution skills.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and influence stakeholders to deliver a multi-year roadmap.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience contributing to discussions on technology decisions and strategy of a product.
  • Experience managing technical products or online services.
  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or Master's in a related field.
  • Financial statement (P&L, Balance Sheet, or Cash Flow) management experience.
  • Experience in developing financial software.
  • Capacity to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proven track record of delivering results on time and building trust with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Capacity to work independently in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Knowledge of technology trends and how they impact the product roadmap.
