About the position
The Senior Product Manager will play a crucial role in enhancing Snowflake's core Cloud Data Warehouse team, focusing on SQL workload optimization. This position is designed for an experienced product leader who will define the vision and roadmap for SQL workload optimization features, ensuring that customers achieve optimal performance at the best price. The role involves collaboration with various teams to deliver a seamless user experience and drive critical optimization initiatives across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Extend Snowflake's best-in-class workload optimization experience.
- Define and drive critical optimization initiatives end-to-end.
- Drive enhanced and new product capabilities by identifying, prioritizing, and executing on product roadmap items.
- Lead a cross-functional team covering product, design, development, documentation, marketing, sales, support, professional services, and partners.
- Conduct deep research on customer workload optimization experiences.
- Be a trusted advisor to Snowflake and customer leadership, helping to win necessary attention and resources for initiatives.
- Establish and track key metrics to measure the success of efforts and ensure continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in product management.
- 5+ years of experience with databases, SQL concepts & language, and/or distributed systems.
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar.
- A strong understanding of competitive data platform landscape.
- Ability to design complex database product features while focusing on ease-of-use.
- Proven experience defining a product vision and roadmap and designing an incremental execution plan to deliver value to customers quickly.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in 20 seconds or 20 minutes, depending on the audience and goals.
- Comfortable presenting and working at the CxO level, both within Snowflake and with customers and partners.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and leadership skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Prior experience working on SQL workload optimization and cloud data warehouses.
- Experience with data services in public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience in building data services in public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP).
