About the position

The Trade Desk is changing the way global brands and their agencies advertise to audiences around the world. How? With a media buying platform that helps brands deliver a more insightful and relevant ad experience for consumers -- and sets a new standard for global reach, accuracy, and transparency. We are proud of the culture we have built. We value the unique experiences and perspectives that each person brings to The Trade Desk, and we are committed to fostering inclusive spaces where everyone can bring their authentic selves to work every day. Our mission is to ensure the Trade Desk engineering team can deliver products to our customers as quickly and efficiently as possible. Our goal is that our engineers are happy, efficient, and productive. If you are technical, data-driven and creative, with a deep understanding of the development process, and a passion for building great developer experiences, we would love to talk to you about the open positions on our PM team.

Responsibilities

  • Own the development life cycle at the Trade Desk - from the first discussions about a feature, to coding and debugging, through deployment into our global data centers, A/B Testing and Experimentation, and all the way to post-deployment production monitoring.
  • Build tools, frameworks, automation and processes that help our engineers to focus their time on delivering customer value.
  • Understand the needs of our customers (the Trade Desk Engineering Team), the tools and processes that they use, the technical governance standards they must meet, and industry trends and best practices.
  • Define our developer experience strategy and the roadmap to get there.
  • Drive execution against the roadmap.
  • Drive deeply technical projects and provide leadership in a complex, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Technical or Platform Product Manager working in a technology-heavy role, including defining the strategy and roadmap for the platforms you built.
  • A proven track record of partnering with engineering teams to solve complex, technical problems and delivering large and impactful software projects.
  • Excellent communication skills including the confidence to participate in very technical conversations, the ability to drive consensus and commitment, and the ability to crisply communicate delivery timelines, trade-offs and risks to senior management.
  • Durability and grit -- sometimes solutions take creative thinking, multiple iterations, and staging while dependencies solidify.
  • Enthusiasm for all things developer, emerging technologies, and a desire to keep on top of industry trends.

Nice-to-haves

  • A passion for building great developer experiences and a track record of having done so.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents.
  • Retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match.

  • Well-being benefits.
  • Reimbursement for certain tuition expenses.
  • Parental leave.
  • Sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked.
  • Vacation time for full-time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter.
  • Around 13 paid holidays per year.
  • Employees can purchase The Trade Desk stock at a discount through The Trade Desk's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
