About the position

The Senior Product Marketing Manager at Commvault is responsible for driving strategic marketing efforts for the company's product portfolio. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and execute marketing strategies aimed at increasing product adoption, revenue growth, and establishing market leadership. A deep understanding of the product landscape, market dynamics, and customer needs is essential for effectively positioning and promoting Commvault's products in a competitive marketplace.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive product marketing strategies, product launches, and plans to drive awareness, adoption, and revenue growth.
  • Exhibit clear understanding of products, target market, and competitive landscape to create compelling product positioning and differentiation strategies.
  • Serve as a voice of the customer to internal product-focused teams by understanding how buyers buy and their buying criteria.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, sales, and engineering, to define product positioning, messaging, and pricing strategies.
  • Define and communicate the unique value proposition of products to customers, prospects, and internal collaborators.
  • Collaborate with product management to shape the product roadmap based on market insights and customer feedback.
  • Stay current with industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to identify new market opportunities and share insights with Sales, Product, and Marketing.
  • Educate Sales and Partners on how to position and sell, contributing to the development of sales playbooks and other tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications, or related field; MBA a plus.
  • 8+ years of product marketing experience in a B2B environment; experience in the tech or cybersecurity industry is preferred.
  • Strong internal communicator and collaborator with experience working with cross-functional teams that span marketing, sales, and product management organizations.
  • Expertise with data, IT, cloud, or security persona-based messaging or workload expertise - databases, VMs, and SaaS applications.
  • Consistent track record of developing and executing successful product marketing strategies.
  • Exceptional writing and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and compellingly.
  • Demonstrated success in communicating and evangelizing technical products involving multiple offerings, audiences, and deliverables.
