About the position

As a Senior Product Marketing Manager at SambaSafety, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our rapidly growing Insurance line of business. This position is highly visible and requires a deep understanding of product lifecycles and go-to-market orchestration. You will be responsible for developing innovative marketing strategies that address the challenges and business needs of our prospects and clients. Your ability to simplify complex concepts and craft compelling narratives will be essential in promoting our products effectively. In this role, you will leverage market research and competitive analysis to shape our marketing strategies and ensure alignment with market needs and trends. You will act as the 'messenger of the market,' keeping a finger on the pulse of our customers and competitors, and communicating insights back to the organization. Your responsibilities will include evangelizing the product value proposition to both internal stakeholders and external customers, as well as developing sales materials that resonate with key personas throughout the sales cycle. You will collaborate closely with various departments, including marketing, product, and sales, to orchestrate our Go to Market processes and ensure that our insurance offerings are positioned effectively. Additionally, you will drive thought leadership initiatives through written content, webinars, podcasts, and speaking engagements, while also working to increase awareness of new products and services among our customer base. This role offers the opportunity to participate in industry events and quarterly onsite meetings for the Marketing, Product, and Sales teams, with travel expectations of up to 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the success of the Insurance line of business by developing innovative marketing strategies.
  • Leverage market research to inform product success and competitive analysis.
  • Evangelize the product value proposition and messaging to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop compelling sales materials targeting key personas for all phases of the sales cycle.
  • Conduct competitive research to adapt messaging and marketing strategies based on win/loss analysis.
  • Collaborate with customer marketing to increase awareness of new products and ensure customer retention.
  • Tailor messaging to meet feature/product adoption goals.
  • Orchestrate Go to Market processes and serve as the subject matter expert for insurance offerings.
  • Maintain a comprehensive insurance buyer persona library.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of proven experience in product marketing, preferably in a technical or software-focused environment.
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills, with the ability to process large amounts of data into actionable information.
  • High degree of curiosity, ingenuity, and personal ownership.
  • Strong knowledge of product lifecycles and go-to-market strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in sales and partner ecosystem enablement.
  • Experience in product integrations and positioning to technical audiences.
  • Expertise in conducting competitive analysis and leveraging market research.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills, with a writing sample requested during the interview process.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills to prioritize multiple competing projects.
  • Self-starter with a high degree of motivation to exceed expectations.
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff and cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Product Marketing Certified (PMA Core)/Pragmatic Institute Certified (PMC) III or higher preferred.
  • Experience in the insurance industry or Insurtech preferred.
  • Experience working with telematics data or solutions preferred.
