At Confluent, we are on a mission to revolutionize the way organizations utilize data through our innovative data streaming platform. As a Senior Product Marketing Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the brand narrative and messaging that resonates with technical decision-makers. This position requires a compelling technical brand storyteller who can translate complex platform capabilities into impactful stories that drive engagement and understanding among our target audiences. You will collaborate closely with various teams, including content, customer, campaigns, and analysts, to create high-impact marketing assets that support our go-to-market strategies. In this role, you will be responsible for leading external speaking engagements, delivering presentations, and facilitating discussions that educate customers, analysts, and partners about our data streaming platform. Your ability to break down complex topics into clear, value-driven narratives will be essential in ensuring that our messaging is accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences. You will also continuously refine and improve your messaging and assets by leveraging qualitative and quantitative feedback from customers and market insights. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical B2B journalism, product marketing, or brand marketing, with a proven track record of delivering impactful customer-facing messaging. You should possess excellent communication skills and exceptional leadership abilities to drive cross-functional collaboration and alignment. A deep understanding of market drivers, target audiences, and competitive landscapes will be crucial for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Own the data streaming platform's brand narrative by translating complex platform capabilities into impactful stories.
  • Collaborate with content, customer, campaigns, and analyst teams to create high-impact content such as landing pages, eBooks, solution briefs, webinars, blogs, and presentations.
  • Lead external speaking engagements, delivering presentations and discussions to educate customers, analysts, and partners.
  • Continuously refine and improve messaging and assets by applying qualitative and quantitative feedback from customers and market insights.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in technical B2B journalism, product marketing, solutions marketing, industry marketing, brand marketing, or comparable experience in complex industries.
  • A bachelor's degree in journalism, creative writing, computer science, or related fields, or comparable experience.
  • Proven track record of delivering impactful customer-facing messaging and assets.
  • Excellent communication skills to break down complex topics into clear, value-driven stories.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with the data infrastructure ecosystem, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) business models, Open Source Software (OSS)-led companies, or cloud hyperscalers.
  • A strong portfolio of written work that communicates technical concepts to decision-makers in compelling, plain language.
  • Proven public speaking skills, particularly in engaging with customers and analysts.
