About the position

The Senior Product Owner for the Analytics Center of Excellence (Analytics COE) plays a pivotal role in harnessing global healthcare insights to enhance clinical development processes. This position is integral to the Analytics COE, which focuses on utilizing big data and advanced analytics to derive insights that expedite clinical trial delivery and bring new medicines to patients more efficiently. The Analytics COE is a multi-functional team that embodies innovation and requires entrepreneurial thinking to build its capabilities, making it a unique opportunity to revolutionize the clinical research industry. In this role, you will act as a technical Product Manager for an AI-powered clinical analytics product. You will be responsible for owning the technical product strategy while serving as the overall product owner and solution architect. Your collaboration with business stakeholders, user experience professionals, development leadership, and the data science team will be crucial in developing a cohesive and technically sound solution that aligns with the overall product roadmap. As a subject matter expert, you will guide the development team on key technical goals and maintain ongoing visibility into the development strategy and progress. Your typical activities will include defining the product delivery strategy in collaboration with technical leadership, evaluating modeling and integration strategies with data scientists, and leading the decomposition process from product features to user stories. You will also prioritize and balance trade-offs between functional work and technical debt, guide user experience and development activities, and define non-functional requirements and automation needs. Additionally, you will facilitate discovery sessions to ensure the right solutions are built, support product documentation, and mentor a growing team that is essential for delivering innovative solutions for IQVIA. Moreover, you will take on additional responsibilities such as acting as Product Owner for a second development team, leading product teams to produce valuable solutions iteratively, developing and maintaining accurate product metrics, advocating for product-led organization policies, and collaborating on initiatives to enhance ACOE products and processes. Mentoring junior Technical Product Managers will also be part of your role, ensuring the growth and development of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical Product Manager for an AI-powered clinical analytics product.
  • Own the technical product strategy and serve as the overall product owner and solution architect.
  • Work with business stakeholders, user experience professionals, development leadership, and the data science team to develop a cohesive solution.
  • Define the product delivery strategy in collaboration with technical leadership.
  • Evaluate modeling and integration strategies with data scientists.
  • Lead the decomposition process from product features to user stories.
  • Evaluate, prioritize, and balance trade-offs between functional work and technical debt.
  • Guide user experience and development activities in alignment with the product roadmap.
  • Define and prioritize non-functional requirements and automation needs.
  • Facilitate discovery sessions to drive building the right solutions.
  • Support product offering documentation, including communications, enablement materials, and presentations for executive leadership.
  • Mentor and coach a growing team that is key to delivering differentiating solutions for IQVIA.
  • Act as Product Owner for a second development team or take on additional roles on the product team.
  • Lead product teams in producing solutions that provide real value and can be delivered iteratively.
  • Develop and maintain accurate product metrics.
  • Advocate for product-led organization policies.
  • Lead and collaborate on initiatives to improve ACOE products and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years' experience acting as a product owner.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain ideas to both technical and non-technical people.
  • Ability to lead through partnership, collaboration, and servant leadership principles.

Nice-to-haves

  • A technical degree, with a combination of product management, software delivery, and data science experience.
  • Exposure to life sciences domain and/or clinical trials.
  • Solid understanding of machine learning concepts, with the ability to convey to non-technical audiences.
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of architecture and software development processes, including agile approaches.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, including a good command of the English language.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Competitive salary range of $136,800.00 - $254,000.00 based on qualifications and experience.
