About the position

The Senior Product Owner / Lead Product Development for Celebrity Cruises is a pivotal role responsible for the development of guest journeys and the detailed definition of high-quality concepts and experiences tailored for Celebrity Cruise guests. This position is integral in translating the overarching product vision into actionable briefs, documents, and collaborative working sessions that align all stakeholders and partners involved in the product development process. The Senior Product Owner ensures that the Celebrity Cruises experience is meticulously executed through comprehensive guest journey mapping, the creation of product playbooks, and integrated planning across Hotel Operations. In this role, the Senior Product Owner will oversee the daily execution of new concepts, experiences, activities, dedicated spaces, and innovative programming for Celebrity Cruises. This includes collaborating and coordinating multiple rollout efforts across new ships, the existing fleet, private destinations, and updating current products as part of Celebrity's commitment to Operational Excellence. The position requires a deep understanding of operational feasibility to ensure that all concepts are brought to life in alignment with strategic goals. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of creative thinking, storytelling capabilities, and executional skills, enabling them to problem-solve effectively and keep stakeholders focused on the vision. This role demands a high level of collaboration and communication across various disciplines, ensuring that the products developed are viable, feasible, and desirable for guests. The Senior Product Owner will also be responsible for leading aspects of design and execution to continually enhance the product offerings, creating compelling narratives that outline product direction, and utilizing data analytics to inform decision-making and updates for senior management and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day product vision and support for all partners and stakeholders, ensuring products are viable, feasible, and desirable for guests.
  • Lead aspects of design and execution to continually enhance products.
  • Create presentations outlining product direction to help partners and stakeholders stay aligned on key priorities.
  • Develop playbooks, executive presentations, and operating procedures using creative approaches and data analytics.
  • Help partners prioritize appropriately to ensure final product delivery aligns with strategic vision and guest experience.
  • Communicate changes and updates in direction or priority shifts to cross-functional teams while keeping Product Development Managers informed.
  • Work closely with operations and design teams on events to showcase new products and ensure guest experience aligns with strategy.
  • Track and monitor startup plans by developing training materials, SOPs, or playbooks for flawless execution of concepts/experiences.
  • Collaborate with Newbuild and architectural/design/construction partners to ensure physical products meet brand expectations.
  • Leverage data from Insights & Analytics to inform the development of new products.
  • Share experience guidelines to ensure Creative Agencies, Hotel Operations, and Newbuild teams have necessary information for design and operation.
  • Define success criteria for products and experiences and coordinate post-delivery audits through metrics and KPIs.
  • Support the governance process for guest-facing product changes in line with Operational Excellence.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years in a product, design, or similar role developing physical experiences or products for consumers, with product owner experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience in physical product or experience creation, preferably in hospitality, F&B, or entertainment industry.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across a large ecosystem of partners and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and project leadership skills, including effective communication to executive levels.
  • Ability to assemble, lead, and influence cross-functional teams to execute against a new product vision.
  • Strong storytelling skills to craft compelling narratives for partners and collaborators.
  • Attention to detail and follow-through, with a positive outlook and personal initiative.
