About the position

The Senior Production Manager will oversee all daily operations at the Vadnais Heights facility, ensuring that assembly and fabrication processes are executed efficiently and in compliance with established policies and procedures. This role is pivotal in developing both personnel and processes to maximize safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery. The Senior Production Manager is tasked with leading the execution of the business strategy to meet corporate objectives and plans for the facility. This position requires a blend of strategic thinking, leadership, and hands-on management to drive operational excellence. In this role, the Senior Production Manager will implement a staffing plan by identifying resource requirements, justifying the need for additional personnel, and coordinating the selection process with Human Resources. The manager will also be responsible for developing direct reports through appropriate training, assigning progressively challenging tasks, and conducting performance reviews. Daily operations will be monitored closely, providing direction and guidance to lower-level supervisors and skilled staff to achieve unit or project goals. The Senior Production Manager will interact with internal customers regularly, responding to requests and explaining procedures. This role will also involve executing policies that affect processes and personnel within the assigned organizational unit, influencing business decisions through the recommendation and development of operational policies and procedures. Compliance with company policies and regulations, such as FDA and EEO regulations, will be a critical aspect of this position. Additionally, the manager will contribute to the development and monitoring of the area budget through regular analysis of costs and spending, all while maintaining a primary commitment to safety and product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee facility operations to ensure the safety of team members.
  • Implement a staffing plan by identifying resource requirements and coordinating the selection process with Human Resources.
  • Develop direct reports by securing appropriate training and conducting performance reviews.
  • Monitor daily work operations and provide direction to lower-level supervisors and skilled staff.
  • Interact with internal customers by meeting regularly and responding to requests.

  • Influence business decisions by recommending operational policies and procedures.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Contribute to the development and monitoring of the area budget through cost analysis.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with the Quality Policy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of people leadership experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience, with molding experience preferred.
  • Proven managerial experience with a track record of success.
  • Familiarity with the core capabilities of a manufacturing site.
  • Lean/Six Sigma Greenbelt preferred.
