About the position

The Senior Production Purchasing Manager is responsible for supporting Production Operations by managing purchase requests from key stakeholders, soliciting price quotes, creating Purchase Orders, and reconciling outstanding transactions. This role requires a blend of analytical skills and a passion for music culture, as it involves working closely with vendors and internal teams to ensure efficient purchasing processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 2-4 purchasing managers, ensuring proper protocol and timely issue resolution
• Partner with Production Operations staff to understand business needs and create purchase orders per their requirements
• Record and monitor spend against budget; notify when exceeding budget
• Reconcile invoices to Purchase Order receipts, resolving variances with Operations and vendors
• Work with vendors to ensure they are onboarded before Purchase Orders are created
• Raise timely and accurate Purchase Orders for time-sensitive Production needs
• Goods Receipt Purchase Orders, ensuring timely financial recognition
• Partner with Operations, Finance and Procurement personnel to maintain communication channels across key stakeholder departments
• Ensure timely submission of documents for new vendor setup
• Develop strong vendor relationships, ensuring win-win results
• Train on procedures and testing related to system upgrades
• Special projects and tasks as assigned
• Some travel may be required

Requirements

• Experience managing direct reports
• Prior media and entertainment production support experience preferred
• Familiarity with event production support
• Must have experience with creating and maintaining purchase orders
• Bachelor's degree in business or technical field
• Understanding of fundamental finance and business concepts
• Proven ability to navigate through Excel (i.e., vlookups, pivot tables, etc.)
• Excellent communication skills
• Proven ability to work in a team environment
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
