About the position

Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Production/QA Engineer at Pax River, Maryland. This position supports the Strategic Integrated Kinetic Effects (STRIKE) Project Office (PO), which is tasked with fielding the Long Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW) and Mid-Range Capability (MRC) Army weapon systems. The role is contingent upon contract award, emphasizing the importance of this position in the successful execution of critical defense projects. The Senior Production/QA Engineer will provide engineering and scientific expertise in the planning, development, and execution of requirements reviews and design reviews for LRHW and MRC weapon systems, as well as any other weapon systems reporting to the PO. This includes assisting in the development of assessment briefings and coordinating requirements review and design review summary reports as part of Milestone Documentation requirements and independent assessment requirements from PEO and other agencies. In addition, the engineer will support the formulation of Requests for Proposal (RFPs), including recommendations on statements of work (SOW), Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRL), and Document Summary Lists (DSL). The role also involves maintaining a document repository containing all CDRLs, system specifications, data requirements, and associated attachments. The engineer will prepare and maintain technical documentation such as evaluations, reports, studies, briefings, recommended specifications, draft standards, and commercial item descriptions for LRHW and MRC product development. The position requires providing technical recommendations and expertise in missiles and the interface between munitions and launcher systems, performing trade-off studies and risk assessment analysis of candidate systems, and providing inputs to the integrated master schedule. The engineer will also be responsible for providing technical expertise in all aspects of guidance and control systems, including sensors, guidance technologies, navigation and control devices, and associated interfaces for weapons systems. Furthermore, the engineer will participate in Technical Exchange Working Groups, provide Quality Assurance technical advice, and support the Government's administration of Quality Assurance programs. This includes developing special processes and procedures, assisting with technical issues found from production batch testing, and evaluating data for sufficiency while coordinating with authoritative sources to resolve inconsistencies. The role also involves supporting failure analysis tasks and analyzing the impact on fielded hardware, ensuring the reliability, availability, and maintainability of the systems involved.
