About the position

The Senior Program Management & Acquisition Support role at KBR involves overseeing the development, design, and production of a Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition program for first-of-kind space vehicles and missions. The candidate will ensure that the vendor meets project schedules and cost parameters while delivering on key performance metrics. This position requires strong communication skills and technical expertise in space hardware and software integration, as well as the ability to lead and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as program advisory lead for time-critical technical projects and tasks requiring technical expertise.
  • Assist in acquisition planning and drafting technical requirements and documents.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to verify program needs and meet project goals.
  • Help assess the technical sufficiency, cost, quality, and timely delivery of program deliverables.
  • Provide technical advice and assist with problem resolution in collaboration with engineers.
  • Support management and execution of programs consisting of multiple projects, ensuring efficient coordination and resource allocation.
  • Develop a Monthly Status Report on support efforts, including updates on status, performance, and contractor performance.
  • Draft, review, and edit final program reports, documents, and briefings.
  • Support acquisition planning and development of documents required for systems acquisition.
  • Advise government management on design challenges, supply chain issues, and integration support during system program reviews.
  • Work independently on high-visibility or mission-critical aspects of the program.
  • Oversee efforts of less senior staff and be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to specific jobs.
  • Translate complex ideas and data into actionable recommendations and clear communication.

Requirements

  • Minimum ten (10) years of relevant experience on space development programs for the DoD or IC.
  • Experience in the development and fielding of satellite systems through assembly, integration, and test.
  • Experience with Space Vehicle and subsystem integration.
  • Experience in DoD acquisition management.
  • Understanding of operational environment and corresponding mission user needs.
  • Experience analyzing and developing contract data requirements lists and deliverables.
  • Experience with Integrated Master Schedules and risk management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fifteen (15) years of relevant experience on space development programs in the DoD or IC.
  • Experience in production management and/or industrial engineering, including assessing availability and lead-time for required parts.
  • Experience with ACAT I/II level acquisition programs.
  • Experience as a SETA in a government program office.
  • Experience with rapid prototyping.
  • Experience with integrated air, space, and cyberspace capabilities.
