About the position

The Development Senior Program Manager at General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is responsible for leading and delivering all phases of the program life cycle, from proposal development through to contract closeout. This role involves managing a cross-functional Integrated Program Team (IPT) to ensure program objectives are met in terms of cost, schedule, and technical performance. The position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to develop customer relationships, and adherence to budget baselines using methodologies like Earned Value Management (EVM).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver all phases of the program life cycle from inception to contract closeout.
  • Manage a cross-functional Integrated Program Team (IPT) to meet program objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements on cost and schedule.
  • Develop and adhere to budget baselines utilizing Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Present program updates to customers, executive management, and stakeholders.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness by collecting and analyzing data in support of key performance metrics.
  • Supervise program or project staff to ensure timely completion of work according to established standards.
  • Implement and administer corporate programs, including planning, budgeting, and staffing.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 8 - 10 years of relevant experience in program management.
  • Ability to develop and mentor others.
  • Strong management skills and ability to build collaborative relationships.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in program management skills.
