About the position

The Senior Program Manager, EDA Tools Strategy role is a crucial position within the SOC DU team at Nokia. The main responsibility of the role is to drive the strategy on EDA (Electronic Design Automation) tools and contracts, in collaboration with the COSI and sourcing teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing usage data, predicting future tool usage, and defining the roadmap for SoC EDA tools. This role plays a vital part in maintaining strong relationships with EDA suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost efficiency in supplier management. The Senior Program Manager will also participate in tools assessment and benchmarking, as well as competitive analysis of our design flow and EDA tools. Within the broader team, the Senior Program Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across multiple units in MN. They will have the opportunity to collaborate with experts in various domains and contribute to the overall success of Nokia's SOC DU. Responsibilities

  • Drive strategy on EDA tools in SOC DU
  • Define strategy and negotiate contracts with EDA suppliers (Owner for R&D perspective information and reasoning toward EDA vendors for contract negotiations)
  • Define roadmap for SoC EDA tools
  • Conduct competitive analysis on design flow and EDA tools
  • Responsible for understanding of the tools and server usage in all units in MN, analyzing usage data, help to predict usage for future projects
  • Participate in tools assessment / benchmarking

Requirements

  • Minimum 20 years' experience in the semiconductor industry
  • Minimum 10 years' experience with semiconductor EDA tools
  • Proven success in driving down EDA supplier costs
  • Strong supplier relationship management skills, preferably with EDA suppliers
  • Experience working at an EDA supplier to understand company culture (desired)
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
