About the position

The Senior Program Manager - HPC at AMD is a pivotal role responsible for leading key engineering initiatives from concept to execution within the Data Center GPU organization. This position requires collaboration across engineering and business teams to achieve product objectives, focusing on delivering sophisticated software and hardware programs that drive innovation in computing experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Define, plan, and drive projects and program plans based on management and senior technical guidance.
  • Scope technical feasibility of new products by clarifying and analyzing requirements with SW/HW Architects, Technical Leads, and Engineers.
  • Develop program schedule considering various Driver, SW Stack components, and HW/FW dependencies, and negotiate a staffing plan that supports the schedule.
  • Build, create, and maintain a well-developed, managed, and executed program plan.
  • Establish formal program management artifacts including a plan of record, statements of work, project/program timelines, budget, scope, performance, and quality KPIs.
  • Plan for risks in the development path, identify prevention methods, and address them to save on engineering costs.
  • Work comfortably with senior executives to address needs and requirements from AMD's Engineering, Product Management, and Customer Engineering organizations.

Requirements

  • Solid knowledge of technical program management.
  • Outstanding track record of delivering sophisticated software/hardware programs.
  • Ability to drive a schedule for business planning that aligns with business strategy.
  • Good understanding of requirements management, documentation management, and defect management.
  • Ability to grasp concepts during discussions and turn minutes into action items.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate progress to team members regularly.
  • Experience working in a high-pressure environment with competing priorities and tight turnaround times.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Formal Project Management education, PMP certified.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence, and Excel.
  • Experience with Agile methodology.
  • Engineering background preferred.
