About the position

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS) is seeking a Production Senior Program Manager to join our team in Healdsburg or Folsom, California. This role is pivotal in overseeing all aspects of a program, from inception through to completion. The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for proposal development, program execution, quality assurance, cost management, scheduling, and technical execution. This position requires leading a cross-functional Integrated Program Team (IPT) to meet program objectives effectively. The Senior Program Manager will also engage with customers, executive management, and other stakeholders, presenting program updates and performance metrics. Risk and opportunity assessments are critical components of this role, as the Senior Program Manager will develop strategies for risk mitigation and opportunity realization throughout the program's lifecycle. This is a full-time, on-site position, reflecting our commitment to supporting the mission of the warfighter, with our products utilized by every U.S. military branch and allied nations worldwide. Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of a program from inception to completion, including proposal development, execution, quality, cost, and schedule management.
  • Lead and direct a cross-functional Integrated Program Team (IPT) to meet program objectives.
  • Present program updates and performance metrics to customers, executive management, and stakeholders.
  • Conduct program risk and opportunity assessments and develop mitigation and realization plans.
  • Implement and administer corporate programs, ensuring they meet organizational needs.
  • Supervise program or project staff to ensure timely completion of work according to established standards.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness by collecting and analyzing data to support key performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and relevant external regulations.
  • Provide reports and updates to senior management and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 8 - 10 years of relevant experience in program management.
  • Ability to develop and mentor others within the team.
  • Strong management skills and ability to build collaborative relationships.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proven program management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the defense industry or with government contracts.
  • Familiarity with project management software and tools.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) would be advantageous.
