As a Talent Acquisition Background Screening Program Manager at Intuit, you will play a crucial role in managing the global background check process for all employees and interns. Your responsibilities will include managing the pre-employment background screening program, assessing and managing risks, and solving complex problems while balancing compliance with business objectives. You will be expected to effectively execute fundamental program management tasks, including issue and risk management, building structured cross-group schedules, tracking dependencies and milestones, and communicating the overall project status. Clear and concise communication will be essential as you convey plans, status, issues, risks, and requirements to appropriate audiences. You will also facilitate the production of actionable requirements documents, ensuring that teams have a thorough understanding of the requirements to achieve a shared vision. Your role will require you to synthesize recommendations and share them with key stakeholders to drive business decisions, ensuring timely resolutions and information integrity. You will also be responsible for adjudicating pre-hire employment background checks, assessing the results, and consulting with the background screening review team to determine appropriate outcomes. This position requires a high level of discretion and the ability to handle confidential issues with good judgment and tact. You will need to be comfortable interacting with various levels of internal customers, managing expectations, and having sensitive conversations with applicants. Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to operate with minimal supervision will be critical to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the pre-employment background screening program for Intuit.
  • Assess and manage risk, solve complex problems, and apply judgment to balance process compliance with business objectives.
  • Effectively execute fundamental program management tasks including issue and risk management, building structured cross-group schedules, tracking dependencies and milestones, and communicating overall project status.
  • Clearly and concisely communicate plans, status, issues, risks, and requirements to appropriate audiences.
  • Facilitate or produce clear, actionable requirements documents and ensure that teams have an in-depth understanding of requirements to achieve a shared vision.
  • Ensure maximum possible compliance with all laws and regulations.
  • Track and drive prioritization for incoming requirements and work requests, analyze them, and drive for clarity.
  • Synthesize recommendations and share with key stakeholders to drive business decisions.
  • Communicate cross-functionally to ensure timely resolutions and information integrity.
  • Propose simple and effective solutions for well-defined problems.
  • Adjudicate pre-hire employment background checks.
  • Assess results of background checks and risks as related to the position for which an individual is being considered and consult with the background screening review team to determine appropriate outcomes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in managing programs, background screening preferred.
  • Experience in HR, law, compliance, and/or document management preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to use good judgment and tact in dealing with confidential issues with complete discretion.
  • Comfortable interacting with various levels of internal customers, managing expectations, and having sensitive conversations with applicants.
  • Excellent ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate with minimal supervision and direction, and drive process using indirect authority.

Nice-to-haves

  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel or Google Sheets. Experience using formulas, macros, and VBA. Or a strong willingness to learn.
  • Experience with pre-employment background screening practices and procedures.
