About the position

The Senior Program Manager for Veteran Services to Career at Volunteers of America Colorado is responsible for supervising staff, managing programmatic budgets, and coordinating activities among community partners. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulations and achieving program objectives while overseeing multiple teams and grants. The manager will develop and implement strategic plans that align program activities with broader community initiatives, ultimately supporting the wellbeing of staff and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements strategic plans linking services between multiple agency and community stakeholders in support of shared objectives.
  • Oversees multiple grant agreements and teams by ensuring compliance with grant commitment and expectations of program funders and VOA Colorado.
  • Trains, supervises, and evaluates staff members, ensuring compliance with job descriptions and best practice standards.
  • Composes and manages annual program budgets representative of grant agreements, monitoring expenses and revising budgets as needed.
  • Conducts and facilitates regular internal reviews of all components, monitoring for compliance to program requirements and best practices through client file reviews and community feedback.
  • Stays informed of evolving program regulations and standards, integrating these practices into program operations.
  • Collaborates with administrative services staff to ensure adherence to financial, personnel, and operational standards as indicated by grant agreements.
  • Aggregates and reviews program data to determine the effectiveness of services and progress in meeting service goals.
  • Utilizes program data to develop strategic action plans for outreach and service delivery.
  • Ensures program staff provide accurate and timely documentation, adhering to confidentiality and reporting standards.
  • Coordinates activities among community stakeholders and maintains excellent working relationships with them.
  • Assists in preparation of regular grant applications and requests for information.
  • Collaborates with statewide field office staff to facilitate continuity of high-quality services.
  • Maintains predictable, consistent attendance.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, human services, or a closely related field.
  • 2 years of direct supervisory or management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to fulfill relevant program compliance and administrative requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams of human service professionals.
  • Demonstrated abilities in effectively managing program grant agreements, contracts, and finances.
  • Possession of a Colorado driver's license and state-mandated automobile insurance.
  • Possession of a personal vehicle for work-related travel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in public administration, business administration, human services, or a closely related field.
