About the position

The Senior Program Manager - Work to Zero at the National Safety Council is responsible for developing and executing programs aimed at eliminating workplace fatalities through the adoption of safety technology. This role involves project management, outreach, relationship management, and maintaining knowledge of EHS/technology best practices. The position is crucial in advancing the Work to Zero initiative, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders, and managing educational content and events.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute the Work to Zero strategy around educational and business development projects.
  • Develop proposals for new initiatives, defining objectives, purpose, and scope.
  • Integrate smaller projects into a cohesive strategic plan with key deliverables and milestones.
  • Manage project budgets and ensure timely completion of activities.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and report project progress to stakeholders.
  • Develop key messages and educational content for outreach efforts.
  • Write articles, blogs, and present at webinars and conferences.
  • Manage the annual Work to Zero Summit, including concept, agenda, and speaker management.
  • Engage in regular communication and relationship building with stakeholders.
  • Manage the Work to Zero Advisory Council and its logistics.
  • Maintain current knowledge of EHS/technology best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of relevant project management experience.
  • Master's degree preferred, with a focus in EHS or public health.
  • Experience in marketing and communication strategy development preferred.
  • Experience in event management preferred.
  • Experience working with executive-level EHS professionals preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and internet skills.
