About the position

The Senior Program Manager at Leonardo DRS Land Systems is responsible for managing and directing the execution of contract and proposal requirements to ensure that cost, schedules, and performance goals are met. This role involves significant interaction with internal and external customers and collaboration with various functional departments to manage development programs or proposals. The position can be hybrid or remote, providing flexibility in work arrangements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the entire proposal process from pre-RFP preparation to final publication and submission.
  • Ensure proposals are professional, high quality, and compliant with customer requirements and RFP instructions.
  • Conduct proposal submissions in accordance with DRS Capture and Pursuit Process.
  • Track all proposal efforts, including the work of proposal managers, writers, and administrative support teams.
  • Collaborate with management and functional leads to accomplish objectives.
  • Complete Proposal Strategies including developing Capture Plans, Win Themes, and Win Strategies.
  • Lead or support meetings and integrated product/project teams from kick-off through project close.
  • Oversee program or project teams to plan, track, and execute project plans from start to completion.
  • Prepare for and participate in contract/subcontract negotiations.
  • Allocate and control contract budgets for labor, material, travel, and purchased services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, or Business.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in program and proposal management.
  • Knowledge of program and proposal management tools and procedures.
  • Solid leadership and management skills.
  • Experience throughout the program lifecycle from development through sustainment.
  • Experience with earned value cost accounting and reporting.
  • Experience in finance, contracting, export regulations, engineering, logistics, manufacturing, and supply chain management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage aerospace/defense programs as a prime or subcontractor.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Program Management certification preferred (i.e. PMP or DAU).
