The Senior Program Manager is a pivotal role responsible for providing comprehensive planning and oversight for projects within the US Marshal Service (USMS) Headquarters Divisions. This position requires a candidate who can operate effectively within established parameters while also being able to seek clarification from management when faced with situations that fall outside of these parameters. The individual in this role must demonstrate the ability to take direction and work independently, ensuring that all projects are managed efficiently and effectively. The Senior Program Manager will assist the managers of the USMS HQ Divisions program by providing oversight and direction for both planned and ongoing projects, which is essential for the smooth operation of the USMS's initiatives. In addition to project oversight, the Senior Program Manager will be responsible for planning, coordination, administration, and execution of all USMS programs at headquarters. This includes overseeing ongoing projects, engaging with counterparts in other agencies as necessary, and preparing correspondence for management signatures. The role also involves interpreting existing rules, regulations, and USMS policies, as well as developing and analyzing program resource requests. The Senior Program Manager will prepare various written materials, including reports, memoranda, and briefing papers, for both internal and external use, ensuring that all documents are accurate and complete. Candidates for this position must possess a strong understanding of federal government regulations and demonstrate analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required, along with excellent interpersonal relations skills, which are crucial for building and maintaining relationships with both internal employees and external sources. The role may require access to National Security Information and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs), and candidates must be willing to undergo a Top Secret background investigation.
