About the position

The Senior Program Manager at Leonardo DRS Land Systems is responsible for managing and directing the execution of contract and proposal requirements to ensure that cost, schedules, and performance goals are met. This role involves communication and coordination with internal and external customers, overseeing the proposal process, and collaborating with various functional departments. The position can be hybrid or remote, and it operates under the guidance of senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the entire proposal process from pre-RFP preparation to final publication and submission.
  • Ensure proposals are professional, high quality, and compliant with customer requirements.
  • Conduct proposal submissions in accordance with DRS Capture and Pursuit Process.
  • Track all proposal efforts, including the work of proposal managers and support teams.
  • Collaborate with management and functional leads to accomplish objectives.
  • Complete Proposal Strategies including developing Capture Plans and Win Strategies.
  • Lead or support meetings and integrated product/project teams from kick-off through project close.
  • Oversee program or project teams to plan, track, and execute project plans.
  • Prepare for and participate in contract/subcontract negotiations.
  • Allocate and control contract budgets for labor, material, travel, and services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, or Business.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in program and proposal management.
  • Knowledge of program and proposal management tools and procedures.
  • Solid leadership and management skills.
  • Experience throughout the program lifecycle including proposal development and risk management.
  • Experience with earned value cost accounting and reporting.
  • Experience in finance, contracting, export regulations, and supply chain management.
  • Strong problem-solving and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage aerospace/defense programs as a prime or subcontractor.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Program Management certification preferred (i.e. PMP or DAU).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with metrics for assessing and reporting program progress.
  • Experience managing manpower planning and project reviews.
