About the position

The Senior Program Manager is responsible for overseeing large and complex projects or medium to large programs, typically with budgets up to $15 million. This role involves project planning, execution, management, and reporting, ensuring that objectives are met on time and within budget. The Senior Program Manager will work autonomously, applying expert project management skills to deliver quality solutions that align with business goals and stakeholder expectations. The position requires strong leadership, communication, and financial acumen to manage project dependencies, risks, and vendor relationships effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for project planning and execution.
  • Manage and monitor project tasks and controls during planning and delivery activities.
  • Deliver project objectives on-time, within scope and budget.
  • Proactively identify and manage project milestones, dependencies, and impacts.
  • Communicate and mitigate critical risks and issues within projects.
  • Establish strong relationships with senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Provide insights into project financials and forecasts in partnership with Finance.
  • Drive lessons learned and knowledge retention for future projects.
  • Coach and mentor members of the project management community.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience managing large and/or significant projects or medium to large programs (typically $8M-$15M).
  • Bachelor's degree or master's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong project/program management financial acumen.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence change and promote collaboration.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the financial services industry.
  • Familiarity with Voya delivery methodologies and standards.
  • Proven track record of building partnerships across the enterprise.
