About the position

The Senior Program Manager at CAES is responsible for directing all phases of programs and projects from inception through completion, ensuring alignment with customer and contractual requirements. This role involves leading program review sessions, managing customer relationships, and overseeing the preparation of proposals and business plans. The Program Manager will implement effective communication strategies, manage program performance, and proactively address risks and issues to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Define the objectives and strategies of the program, aligning with customer and contractual requirements.
  • Develop and implement effective customer communications plans to manage customer satisfaction and relationships.
  • Control the timely start and completion of program tasks to meet cost and schedule objectives.
  • Coordinate program activities with support functions and manage subcontractors effectively.
  • Conduct regular reviews of program performance against the approved plan.
  • Implement a proactive risk management process, identifying and mitigating program risks.
  • Measure and improve program performance through process investigation and team dynamics.
  • Establish a management reserve for unexpected program challenges.
  • Implement an effective issues resolution process, ensuring regular identification and closure of program issues.
  • Create a roadmap for new business opportunities and manage customer satisfaction for repeat business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years' work experience in a related discipline within the DoD industry or a Master's Degree with 3+ years' experience.
  • Experience managing $500,000+ US Defense related production program.
  • Program Management experience directing production programs/projects from inception through completion.
  • Experience leading proposal teams and developing proposals, participating in negotiations of contract and contract changes.
  • Strong knowledge of DoD Program Management standards and operating procedures.
  • Experience leading people, coaching and mentoring staff, and delivering reliable solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years' work experience in a related discipline within the DoD industry or a Master's Degree with 5+ years' experience.
  • Experience working on Antennas, Precision Positioners, and/or RF/Microwave production programs within the DoD industry.
  • Program Management experience directing development programs from inception through completion.
  • B.S. in Engineering.
  • Active DoD clearance.
