About the position

The Sr. Program/Product Quality Engineer will serve as the primary Quality focal point for pod-based ISR systems across multiple programs and customers. This role involves managing quality-related activities, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement quality improvement strategies. The engineer will also act as a liaison for quality issues, manage Quality Notifications, and coordinate with program personnel for customer acceptance processes.

Responsibilities

  • Act as primary Quality focal for pod based ISR systems across one or multiple programs/customers.
  • Manage and drive resolution of Quality Notifications for assigned programs.
  • Review contract deliverables and coordinate with program personnel and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) for DD250 sell-off/customer acceptance.
  • Serve as a program quality liaison for quality issues and concerns related to development and production products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partner with program leadership teams to define and implement quality improvement strategies.
  • Identify supplier escapes/issues and ensure proper containment and backflow to the Supplier Quality Management team.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience.
  • Working experience with Quality Management Systems, to include ISO 9001, AS9100 and/or AS9102.
  • Working experience with failure analysis, root cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions.
  • Working experience with technical data package review (TDP) and document repository.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CORE or other Continuous Improvement Programs.
  • Working experience using resources such as 5S, Process Mapping/Analysis, Lean Six Sigma, Red X.
  • Experience with Quality Notification process within SAP.
  • Experience of Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs).
  • Experience using quality tools (e.g., Pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, process mapping).
  • Experience with industry technical standards, interpreting drawings, work instructions, Bill of Materials (BOMs), consumable materials control, process disciplines and tool control.
  • Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)/AS9145 and utilizing resources such as Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Key Characteristics, Design Failure Modes, and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Production Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and/or Control Plans.
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings.
  • Previous experience with optical ISR systems.
  • Knowledge of First Article Inspections per AS9102.
