About the position

The Senior Programmer - Fire Alarm position is a permanent role focused on designing, programming, installing, and servicing fire alarm systems for commercial and residential buildings. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in fire alarm programming and a strong technical background in Notifier and other fire alarm systems. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, install and service Fire Alarm systems in commercial and residential buildings.
• Provide technical support to the project team and clients.
• Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets.
• Conduct site surveys and ensure compliance with local, state, and national codes and regulations.
• Troubleshoot and repair Fire Alarm systems.
• Train and mentor junior programmers and technicians.
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical guidance to project team members.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Fire Alarm programming, service, and installation.
• Certified in Notifier and other manufacturers.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Knowledge of local, state, and national codes and regulations.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work flexible hours and travel as needed.
