About the position

Nexeo is seeking a skilled Senior Project Accountant with expertise in the Architecture & Engineering (A&E) industry. This role involves leading a small team and working cross-functionally to enhance financial processes and system functionalities. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in Deltek software and a strong background in project financial management, ensuring the financial health of projects while supporting audits and managing accounts payable and receivable.

Responsibilities

• Set up and verify project accounts, and generate detailed financial reports.
• Ensure timely and accurate invoicing to meet project deadlines.
• Assist project managers in overseeing the financial health of projects, providing insights and financial tracking.
• Support project audits and ensure all financial practices align with standards.
• Process sub-consultant invoices and manage collections, analyzing receivables for prompt follow-up.
• Lead a small team, providing guidance, support, and promoting a collaborative environment.
• Collaborate across teams to improve project processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• 1-5 years of experience in accounting roles, ideally within the engineering, construction, or architectural sectors.
• Prior use of Deltek software (Ajera, Vision, or VantagePoint) is required.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail and proactive approach to problem-solving.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Month-end Closing and Account Reconciliation
