About the position
As a Senior Project Architect at CDM Smith, you will be part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team responsible for large-scale engineering and architectural projects across various sectors including Environment, Industry, Commercial, Transportation, Federal, and Water. This role involves overseeing junior staff, developing building design criteria, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations while leading project budgets and schedules.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and work with junior staff to plan, program, and formulate building design and prepare design presentation and construction contract documents.
- Develop building design criteria directly with clients and lead preparation of presentation materials.
- Lead development and coordination of building design and construction contract documents with architectural and multi-discipline engineering staff.
- Mentor project architects and junior architectural staff on multi-discipline projects.
- Determine construction materials, technologies, and methodologies for detailing.
- Prepare and edit technical specifications.
- Confirm compliance with applicable planning, zoning, and building codes and regulations, including coordination with agencies having jurisdiction.
- Serve as Quality Control and independent reviewer for other architects' work.
- Lead development of project budgets and schedules, both internal and external, and monitor projects through close out.
- Support sales, meet with clients, and serve as a Project Technical Lead for Architectural driven projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture.
- 11 years of related experience with RA certification.
- Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
