About the position

Merrick & Company's Project Controls team is seeking a Senior Project Controls Engineer to support the Life Sciences Business Unit. This role involves managing project schedules and costs, ensuring compliance with client specifications, and collaborating with teams to deliver project updates. The position offers flexibility with a hybrid work environment and is a key hire for the team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and update project schedules.
  • Maintain hours, cost, earned value management system, and revenue forecasts.
  • Interact directly with clients and support project management.
  • Develop resource loaded baseline schedules and monitor performance against baselines.
  • Coordinate work assignments and tasks with clients and internal teams.
  • Analyze critical path and constraints to determine effects of schedule delays.
  • Provide schedule version control and ensure physical progress is reported in WBS detail.
  • Collaborate with teams to obtain and input weekly schedule updates.
  • Prepare monthly progress reports using system data.
  • Utilize cost data for tracking and controlling budgets and expenditures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Project Controls (Planning & Scheduling/Cost Engineering).
  • Demonstrable knowledge in cost and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
  • Experience in the Engineering/Procurement/Construction field.
  • Proficiency in project control software applications, including Primavera (P6), Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Strong Primavera skill set.
  • Experience with Monte Carlo Analysis.
  • Strong problem solving, analysis, and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications from AACEi such as Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP), Earned Value Professional (EVP), or Certified Cost Professional (CCP).
  • Knowledge in earned value management on a government contract.
